Tend the Grove: Introducing Staking and Governance

Grove's community now holds the vote on protocol decisions.

Grove governance is live. For the Grove community, this means holders now shape Grove's direction, with transparency and accountability in how each decision is made.

Previously, protocol decisions were made through Sky governance. That voting power now sits with GROVE stakers. The Grove team brings proposals forward on a recurring cycle, and stakers decide which ones advance. Every staked token counts, with no minimum stake required.

Stake and vote with stGROVE

stGROVE represents your staked GROVE. Only staked GROVE carries voting power.

To mint stGROVE, connect your wallet on the Grove App and open the Staking page. Choose how much GROVE to stake or manage your position.

Once staked, you can participate in one of two ways:

Delegate your voting power: Choose one of the three delegates to review proposals and vote on your behalf. Delegation is managed in the Grove App, from the same Staking page.
Vote directly: Use your stGROVE to vote on proposals through Grove's page on Snapshot. This means following new proposals and casting your vote before each deadline.

The three delegates were appointed by the Grove Foundation and the Operational Facilitator following due diligence under the Sky Ecosystem's Delegation Framework, as announced in the governance forum post:

stGROVE holders can unstake at any time. This process takes between two and four weeks to complete, a period that helps keep voting power stable during active governance cycles.

Staking runs on Symbiotic's battle-tested staking contracts, while Snapshot provides the public voting record.

The record starts now

Grove grew within the Sky Ecosystem, one of the longest-standing DAOs in DeFi, and carries that same commitment to decentralized decision-making. Grove’s governance framework is the next step on that path. GROVE was created to give holders a part in shaping the protocol, and opening governance puts that purpose into practice.
